About a month ago was when I heard about Afrolems, *covers face*.

Shameful?

Here I am, hearing about an almost nation-wide renown caterer, meanwhile the entire Nigerian community don bele-ful with her tasty, spicy meals.  What amazes me is that she’s a one woman army.  One might expect a partner or some form of help to cater for large parties, but nooo…she does it all on her own.

When I first heard about Afrolems, it came accompanied with such a fantastic food reputation.  For praise words is voiced to others in a person’s absence, it speaks volumes. That person must really be doing something right, right?

I had the opportunity of interviewing the talent behind Afrolems, Atim Ukoh and I’d like you to meet her.

If you take nothing from this video, besides, “Oh boy, when I land Toronto, I must to chop Afrolems…”, hold up a sec, also take this one thing she said, “Just Do It”.

Yea, you’re right, Nike said this before, so why the reiteration?  Who hasn’t heard that before? Well, it is evident that besides the fact that “Just Do It” has been printed on t-shirts, bags, face caps e.t.c for many years, not many people are doing anything.  We just wear the apparel, confidently, ignoring the message the initiator is attempting to pass across.  Atim had challenges, still has a few challenges but she’s taking a hold of her passion and doing it regardless of what it takes.  She outlined in her interview, her growth process, her operation, her strategy and her plans.

Now that’s an African with true ambition, drive and passion.  Let’s take a hold of our individual dreams, passions and Just DO it!.

If Akpan builds a dining table set and Sule thinks of building a mansion, but doesn’t.  Who has a chance of being great?
